The year 3’s have been learning from a selection of stories in Buddhism;
The Monkey King
The King’s Elephant
The Buddha and the Swan
The explored these stories through role play, and then discussed and considered how these stories reflect the core principles of Buddhism. Furthermore, we discussed how the values of kindness, selflessness and compassion are found within the story, and how they might guide the lives of Buddhists and even some others. The children have told me that they have really enjoyed learning about Buddhism term, and I would like to also praise them on the level of maturity they have shown over the past few weeks.
Here are photos of the children role-playing the stories.
