ANZAC Day in Reception

On Wednesday the 25th of April our Reception class remembered the ANZAC soldiers and the men, women and animals that lived in times of the First World War.

Our teacher taught us about her Australian heritage and how Australian and New Zealand people remember and celebrate the bravery of the ANZACs.

We learnt that after the battle of Gallipoli, red poppies grew in the fields. We created our own red poppies using sponge paint, plates and crepe paper. We had so much fun!

We listened to The Last Post and were inspired to create our own performance using our hands as trumpets in the music area of the Early Years outside space.
