Being Brave!

It has been Children’s mental health week and on Friday we looked at our feelings. In Reception we thought about being brave and how that feels.

The children made the following comments:

‘It’s like when something is scary and you’re not scared.’

‘When I’m in a dark place and I walk in it. I feel a bit scared but being brave makes me not scared.’

‘Being brave is having courage even if you feel not brave.’

We thought about how we could be brave and all went to the climbing frame to try moving in ways we might not have tried before. Some children walked along a plank with their eyes closed, some tried doing a ‘flip’ on the bar and others tried balancing on a part of the frame that they hadn’t balanced on before.
