Clean Air Bayswater Launch

Pupils, including some of our Eco-Warriors, took part in the launch of the Clean Air Bayswater campaign on Wednesday evening. The campaign aims to reduce air pollution in our neighbourhood and improve our health and wellbeing. The event was very well attended and special guests included The Lord Mayor of Westminster, Cllr Hamza Taouzzale, our MP Karen Buck, and a number of other local councillors. Our pupils acquitted themselves brilliantly throughout the evening and were fantastic ambassadors for St Stephen's School.
St Stephen's has played an important part in the development of the campaign whose community engagement started with an Air Pollution Assembly at school in May. Scientists from Imperial College’s Breathe London Programme spoke to all the pupils about the causes of air pollution and the actions we can take to reduce our exposure.
The Lord Mayor of Westminster, declared the launch of the campaign by cutting a green ribbon, ably assisted by our pupils.
