What is physics?
On Monday, St Stephen’s were visited by Bethan Cornell, a PhD student from Kings College University. Bethan spoke to the whole school about physics.
Bethan broke down our preconceptions about who scientists are and what they do. For example, she explained her work with fluorescent dyes – which we have seen in things like glow sticks or fluorescent tags on our back packs – but Bethan uses them to study cancer. She explained how she does this using computer programming and maths.
We had an excellent time seeing how fun it can be, to be a scientist.
