Happy 160th Birthday St Stephen’s!

On Tuesday we held a special celebration for the school’s 160th Anniversary. We were joined by some special visitors including former teachers and Miss Morrison who was headteacher from 1982-2005.

Our celebration assembly was led by the Bishop of London.  Bishop Sarah enjoyed visiting all our classes and seeing some of the wonderful learning that was going on.  She remarked about the wonderful sense of community in the school and the politeness of the children who showed her around.

At our assembly the singing was magnificent and we thought about all the special things that make St Stephen’s a special school community.

Bishop Sarah has promised to hold the school in her prayers.

There is a wonderful history display in the corridor from the Hall to the Library.  This includes lots of old school photos from the 1970s – 2008.  Please do go and have a look.  Some of our former pupils may spot themselves.
