Maths Puzzles for KS2

Hi all,

I came across these fun maths puzzles for KS2.  Please respond on your individual classes blogs pages if you think you have solved any or all of the problems. (Warning: you may need to think outside the ordinary to solve them.)

 

1, What mathematical symbol can be put between 6 and 9, to get a
number bigger than 6 and smaller than 9?

2. The following equation is wrong: 101 – 102 = 1
Can you move one numeral to make it correct?

3. Two girls wish to cross a river. The only way to get to the other side
of the river is by boat. There is only one boat. That boat can only
take one person at a time. The boat cannot return unmanned and
there are no ropes available, yet both girls manage to cross the
river using that boat.
How?
