Visiting St Stephen’s Church

Last Friday, the Nursery visited St Stephen’s Church. Jeremy showed us around and he asked us to measure the church by  making a long line across it. We all held hands and stretched very far, we thought the church was enormous. We then laid on our backs and looked at the wonderful ceiling, it was very high. We then shouted, ‘Hello’, and discovered that our voices were echoed back to us.

Next we looked at the stained glass windows and looked for people wearing red and animals, we discovered that the people wearing red were all important and there were birds, sheep and a donkey in the windows. We then tried to find angels and there were lots!

Lastly we all got to dip our fingers in the font and ring the bell on the way out. Thank you Jeremy for a wonderful time of looking around the church.
