As part of our MEND in Schools sessions this week we are learning about oral health. NHS dental services are FREE for …

  • Under 18 years old and under 19 years old in full time education
  • Pregnant woman
  • Woman with an infant up to 1 years of age
  • Individuals on income support

 

All children can use family toothpaste containing 1350-1500ppm (parts per million) fluoride

Ideally a child should being visiting a dentist at least once a year.

Top tip … Tooth brushing should be supervised until the age of seven making sure they don’t lick or eat toothpaste from the tube!

We should brush our teeth twice a day for 2 minutes.

You should try and brush your teeth before bed and on one other occasion during the day.

 

Whole school weekly challenge

Physical activity – make sure you brush your teeth for 2 minutes everyday

SUPERDUDE TIP – Try using a timing app to make it more fun!

Nutrition challenge – Take a water bottle out with you everywhere you go

SUPERDUDE TIP – Remember to drink 6-8 glasses of water everyday
